WHOOPI GOLDBERG RETURNS, PLAYING CHRIS' NEW NEIGHBOR - After Chris (Tyler James Williams) accidentally misleads the neighborhood into thinking he and Tasha (Paige Hurd) are dating, Rochelle (Tichina Arnold) gets quite an earful from Tasha's grandmother, Louise (guest star Whoopi Goldberg). Meanwhile, Julius (Terry Crews) panics when he finds out the redemption center for his precious trading stamps is closing its doors, and Drew (Tequan Richmond) feels neglected by Rochelle, who doesn't have much time for him lately. HOW MUCH YOU COST, BABY? - Neesee (LisaRaye McCoy) hosts a charity bachelor auction where she bids on a date with an eligible, handsome and rich doctor (guest star Charles Malik Whitfield, "Love, Inc."), but the date doesn't go as she planned. Robert (Duane Martin) pays Neesee to bid on him, so he can avoid going on a random date, but a mystery woman outbids her. Meanwhile, Bobby (Khamani Griffin) goes on a "date" with Dirk (Tony Rock), when he is the only one to bid on him. Alfonso Ribeiro directed the episode written by Jared Bush (402).

CHASING THE DREAM - In trying to seriously pursue her music career, Lynn (Persia White) informs the girls that she is performing at a local club during "open mic" night. While waiting at the club Lynn meets a record executive who offers to help her with her career, but she turns him down when she realizes he wants sex in return. While waiting for her chance to perform, Lynn falls asleep and misses her turn on stage. Lynn decides to take the executive up on his offer, but is embarrassed the next day when he ignores her. Meanwhile Joan (Tracee Ellis Ross) and William (Reggie White) discover a large amount of money is missing from the J-Spot. Golden Brooks also stars. WHAT'S THAT SMELL? - Emily (Kelly Bishop) and Richard (Edward Herrmann) are delighted when Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Christopher (David Sutcliffe) attend Friday night dinner together as a couple. Christopher reveals that Sherry has written him a letter saying she regrets leaving their daughter, GiGi (guest star Nicolette Collier), and asking him to send GiGi to visit her in Paris. Lorelai can't believe that Chris would consider this and they get into an argument over dinner. Logan (Matt Czuchry) returns to town on business to acquire an internet company and pays Rory (Alexis Bledel) a surprise visit. Rory is thrilled, but during a dinner with Logan's colleagues, she realizes that she has no connection to his new business world, and is especially threatened by one of his beautiful co-workers. Meanwhile, Stars Hollow is plagued by a terrible odor when a train with a full load of pickles derails, and Taylor (Michael Winters) refuses to pay for the cleanup. A FLASHBACK EPISODE REVEALS WHY OLIVER HATES LEX ?? As teenagers, Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) and Oliver (Justin Hartley) went to the same prep school, where Oliver and his friends bullied Lex and his friend Duncan (guest star Bryce Hodgson). Lex eventually turned on Duncan to gain their acceptance, prompting Duncan to throw himself off the roof. Lex and Oliver return to the school for a reunion and are startled when Oliver's old pals are killed in violent and mysterious accidents that point to Duncan. Meanwhile, Clark sees satellite photos that show four other craters were created the day he escaped from the Phantom Zone, causing him to believe that others may have followed him. However, when some of Andy's friends start dying, the brothers question whether Andy is using his powers to kill. After learning that Andy's family was visited by the Demon 22 years ago, Sam wonders if Andy is part of the group of children the Demon told him about, and if that means he himself will eventually turn evil.
