KEN WERNER

PRESIDENT

WARNER BROS. DOMESTIC TELEVISION DISTRIBUTION

Ken Werner serves as President, Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution (WBDTD), overseeing one of the entertainment industry's leading distributors of entertainment programming to the domestic television marketplace. In this role, Werner supervises the distribution of all Warner Bros. Entertainment programming - including first-run syndicated series, off-network television programs and feature films - to local broadcast television stations, as well as to pay, cable, satellite and broadcast networks throughout the U.S.

Werner was named WBDTD President in August 2006, taking charge of local television station distribution of first-run and off-network syndicated series, as well theatrical motion pictures. In January 2008, as part of a restructuring by the Warner Bros. Television Group to combine the operations of WBDTD with those of the Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution (WBDCD) unit, Werner added responsibility for the pay, cable, satellite and broadcast network sales activities previously handled by WBDCD. Werner now directs an expanded and consolidated Domestic Television Distribution operation charged with distributing all Warner Bros. Entertainment content to all domestic television outlets.

In his brief tenure at WBDTD, Werner has already orchestrated six major programming sales deals in both the first-run and off-network syndication marketplaces.

Immediately upon joining WBDTD, he led the sales effort for “TMZ,” the new daily entertainment new magazine program based upon TMZ.com, the number one entertainment news destination on the Internet. Cleared on the Fox Owned Television Stations and others from major groups in 94% of the country, “TMZ” is the number one new syndicated program of the 2007-2008 television season.

In September 2007, Werner negotiated the extension of a long-term programming partnership for WBDTD with the stations of the NBC Local Media Division (formerly the NBC Universal Television Stations), covering a two-year order for “The Bonnie Hunt Show,” a new talk program from acclaimed comedy producer, director, writer and performer Bonnie Hunt, premiering in fall 2008; the extension of the long-running hit entertainment news magazine “Extra” through the 2011-2012 season; and the extension of the Emmy Award-winning “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” through the 2010-2011 season.

Werner also oversaw the renewal of “The Tyra Banks Show” on the Fox-owned television stations through the 2008-2009 season. And, in off-network, he managed the sales of the second cycles of the hit drama series “Without a Trace” and “Cold Case” for an additional two years to the CBS Television Stations. The “Without a Trace” renewal covers the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 seasons, while “Cold Case” covers the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 seasons.

Additionally, Werner supervised the sale of Volume 41, a 35-title theatrical motion picture package which was cleared on television stations in 133 markets, representing 90% of the U.S.

Prior to joining WBDTD, Werner served as an important member of the Warner Bros. Entertainment team that formed The CW, and he led the initial rollout of its distribution.

Werner had joined The WB in September 1997 as its Executive Vice President, Distribution. He was a principal member of The WB's management team and was responsible for The WB's affiliate system. During his tenure, he guided the network's transformation of its distribution system, engineering the switch of 20 non-WB affiliates to the network and increasing The WB's U.S. coverage from 56 percent to 94 percent. He introduced numerous new and unique programs that assisted affiliates in maximizing the value of their association with The WB, and he provided the leadership necessary to successfully navigate the dynamic network/affiliate relationship.

Werner came to The WB with an extensive and diverse background in the entertainment industry. He previously served as Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning and Business Development, at CBS, Inc. Prior to CBS, Werner spent eight years with The Walt Disney Company, where he served as Senior Vice President of Walt Disney Television. At Disney, Werner was responsible for a broad range of television, ancillary market and companywide initiatives, including responsibility for all business planning and business and legal affairs for Buena Vista Television. Between 1983 and 1988, Werner held senior business affairs positions at both Columbia Pictures Television and Viacom Enterprises.

After graduating from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and earning his Juris Doctor from New York Law School, Werner began his career on the business side of entertainment as an attorney and Assistant Executive Director of the Dramatists Guild of America, Inc., the professional association of persons writing for the theatre. He has spoken extensively at leading business schools, law schools, symposia and advertising forums throughout the country. He is also a former board member of NATPE and a founding Board and Loan Committee member of L.A. FAME (First African Methodist Episcopal Church) Renaissance, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated the economic empowerment of underserved communities.

On behalf of FAME Renaissance Business Incubator, Werner launched a 2002 lecture series titled “A Conversation With…” He has produced and moderated the series, which is now sponsored by USC's Marshall School of Business and L.A. FAME Renaissance, for more than four seasons, exposing students, businesspeople and entrepreneurs in underserved communities to leading entertainment executives who share their personal perspectives on achieving business success. Guests have included Michael Eisner, Richard Parsons, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Barry Diller, Bob Wright, Carole Black, Peter Chernin, Jamie Kellner, Ann Fudge, Ron Meyer, Chris McGurk and Leslie Moonves.

Werner is married to Noreen Bagley. They have two children, Katie and Annie, and reside in Encino, California.
