MICHAEL ROBERTS NAMED EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, CURRENT PROGRAMMING, THE CW

Michael Roberts has been named Executive Vice President, Current Programming, The CW, the new fifth broadcast television network, a joint venture between Warner Bros. Entertainment and CBS Corporation scheduled to launch in the Fall of 2006. The announcement was made today by Dawn Ostroff, The CW's President of Entertainment, to whom Roberts will report.

In his new role, Roberts will supervise and provide creative direction for all scripted series on The CW's primetime schedule.

"We're thrilled to welcome such a talented executive as Michael to The CW," said Ostroff. "He'll be charged with overseeing our primetime line-up of high-quality, established hits while maintaining strong relationships in the creative community, and we know he will excel in every respect."

Previously, Roberts has served as Executive Vice President, Current Programming, The WB, since February 2005. He had been overseeing The WB's current programming department since July 2004 when he was named Senior Vice President, Current Programming.

Before joining The WB, Roberts spent his career in the motion picture business, most recently for 10 years at Walt Disney Pictures, rising to Senior Vice President of Production. Roberts began his career at Paramount Pictures as a creative executive and also worked at Weintraub Entertainment Group. He has worked on feature films such as "Top Gun," "Children of a Lesser God," "Beverly Hills Cop II," "Three Men and a Little Lady," "Man of the House," "Simon Birch" and "Mighty Joe Young."

As previously announced, the new CW Network will consist of a six-night, 13-hour primetime lineup including Monday through Friday nights from 8:00-10:00 PM (ET/PT); Sundays from 7:00-10:00 PM (ET/PT); Sunday from 5:00-7:00 PM (ET/PT) outside of prime time as well as a Monday-Friday afternoon block from 3:00-5:00 PM (ET/PT) and a five-hour Saturday morning animation block. Altogether, the network will program 30 hours a week over seven days.
