Dom Chalmers in “Bump”


Angus Sampson stars as Dom Chalmers, a recently unemployed executive who’s been spending nights on his moored boat in The CW’s new series “Bump.” Dom and his wife Angie (Claudia Karvan) are lost in their own mid-life reckoning and are on the brink of separation when their lives are thrown upside down with their daughter’s unexpected pregnancy.


Sampson is regarded as one of Australia’s most distinctive, diverse and successful performers with an extensive body of work spanning film, theatre and television. He currently stars in the David E. Kelly series “The Lincoln Lawyer.” He was one of the stars of the drama series “Nightflyers,” based on the George R.R Martin novela, as well as one of the leads in the series “Shut Eye,” produced by “Breaking Bad” producers Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein. Sampson’s further TV work includes “The Walking Dead,” “Paper Giants: Magazine Wars” for John Edwards, and voice over work as the narrator of the action-packed series “Les Norton.”


Other television credits include a pivotal role on the Emmy® and Golden Globe Award-winning television series masterpiece “Fargo” for Noah Hawley, “Spirited,” “Party Tricks” and “Thank God You’re Here” for Working Dog.


His illustrious film credits include “Winchester” opposite Helen Mirren; Spike Jonze’s film “Where the Wild Things Are”; the “Insidious” franchise, created by Leigh Whannell; and George Miller’s Academy Award® nominated film “Mad Max: Fury Road.”


Additional feature film credits include “Legend of The Guardians: The Owls Of Ga’Hoole” for Zach Snyder, “Kokoda,” and “100 Bloody Acres,” in which Sampson was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at Australia’s Academy Awards (AACTA).


Sampson produced, co-wrote and directed the internationally acclaimed feature “The Mule” starring Hugo Weaving, alongside Sampson himself.


Sampson combines all this with ongoing work as a TVC director having shot over 40 commercials, is a trained copywriter and is a much sought-after voice over artist.
