Rebecca Bunch in “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”

In The CW’s critically acclaimed comedy “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” Rachel Bloom plays Rebecca Bunch, a successful, driven, and possibly crazy young woman who impulsively gives up everything in a desperate attempt to find love and happiness in that exotic hotbed of romance and adventure: suburban West Covina, Calif. (it’s only two hours from the beach! Four in traffic).

For her performance, Bloom has won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Series – Musical or Comedy, Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress in a TV Comedy as well as a TCA Award for Individual Achievement in Comedy.

Born in Manhattan Beach, Calif, Bloom graduated from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Theater. In addition to starring in “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” she is also co-creator and executive producer on the show. Bloom recently starred as Kara in the comedy “Most Likely to Murder.” Bloom will also lend her voice in the animated film “The Angry Birds Movie 2,” which comes to theaters in 2019.

Bloom has been named one of Variety’s 10 Scribes To Watch for 2015, as well as a comic to watch by Cosmopolitan, Time Out LA and Backstage Magazine. Her comedic music videos have appeared on the Onion/AV Club, Jezebel, Huffington Post, Buzzfeed and Cracked, among others. Her 2010 music video “Fuck Me, Ray Bradbury” was nominated for a 2011 Hugo Award and won “Best Music Video” at Dragon*Con. She has also released two albums: “Please Love Me” (a compilation of old/new hits) and “Suck It, Christmas!!! (A Chanukah Album).”

 Bloom’s television writing credits include “Robot Chicken,” “Allen Gregory,” The People’s Choice Awards, and “The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange.” Her acting work includes “Bojack Horseman,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Robot Chicken,” “The Fuzz,”  the CW web-series “Very Mallory” and Lucasfilm’s upcoming “Star Wars Detours.” She has written and starred in two live musical sketch comedy shows at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in Los Angeles and New York: Rachel Bloom is a Triple Threat!!! and Sing Out, Louise!. She performs all over Los Angeles and her touring performance credits include Just for Laughs in Montreal, Fun Fun Fun Fest, the Arlington Drafthouse, The Limestone Comedy Festival as well as the recent Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Live tour.

She currently resides in Los Angeles.
