Heather in “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”
In The CW’s critically acclaimed comedy “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” Vella Lovell plays Heather, Rebecca’s friend who is an incredibly smart and self-taught underachiever. She would have been an A+ student had she not been skipping most classes in high school. She is fascinated and appalled by Rebecca.
A recent graduate from the Juilliard School, Lovell has a bachelor’s degree from New York University. While at Julliard, she played Anna Mae in Lynn Nottages’ “By The Way, Meet Vera Stark,” and Lady Macbeth in an adaptation of “Macbeth.”
Lovell recently completed production on the short film “Bears Discover Fire.” She also starred in the short film “Three Dates.” Her television credits include “Girls,” “Younger” and “CollegeHumor Originals.”
Lovell can be seen in the feature film “The Big Sick” as well as independent films “Literally, Right Before Aaron” and “All These Small Moments.”
Lovell has also acted in “The Bacchae” directed by JoAnne Akalaitis at Shakespeare in the Park and “The Great Recession,” as well as “Kaspar Hauser” at The Flea Theater. At Williamstown Theatre Festival, she was seen in “A Streetcar Named Desire” directed by David Cromer, “When You’re Here” by Samuel Hunter, and “Camp Monster,” a new children’s musical. She is also a pianist, and enjoys playing classical music and composing silly songs.
A native of New Mexico, Lovell resides in Los Angeles and New York.
