Cameron Mahkent on “DC’s Stargirl”

Hunter Sansone stars as Cameron Mahkent, son of the villainous Icicle, on The CW’s drama “DC’s Stargirl.”

Sansone is quickly making a name for himself through the dynamic and versatile characters he has brought to life on screen. He was most recently seen starring in Disney+’s highly anticipated sports film “Safety.” The emotional true story follows Ray-Ray McElrathbey, a freshman football player for Clemson University, who secretly raised his younger brother on campus after his home life became too unsteady. Sansone is a scene-stealer as Daniel, Ray’s roommate, teammate and best friend. Daniel supports Ray every step of the way when Ray illegally brings his 11-year-old brother Fay to live with them in their dorm room while their mother is in rehab. The film premiered in December 2020 on Disney+.

On the television front, Sansone’s credits include “S.W.A.T.” and Bazelevs Entertainment’s 2018 indie “Unfollowed.”

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Sansone grew up spending his week in the city and his weekends on a 123-acre farm with hundreds of animals. Growing up, he never thought about pursuing acting until his mom (professional singer and vocal coach) encouraged him to look into it. He hopped into the local acing studio, Creative Actors Workshop, and took classes under the guidance of Scott Arthur Allen. From there, he made the move to Los Angeles and studied acting at the Larry Moss Studio and Michael Woolson Studio. He went on to book roles in indie feature films before landing his starring role in “Unfollowed.” He has been working ever since.

When he isn’t on set, you can find him spending time with his family, in the gym or on his farm riding horses. He also enjoys spending time with his two adopted dogs Max and Buddy. Sansone supports the Stand Up for Pits Foundation and wants to use his platform to make a difference in the fight to end animal abuse. His goal is to convert part of his farm into an animal sanctuary and open animal sanctuaries around the world.

Sansone currently splits his time between Los Angeles, Atlanta, and St. Louis.
