Writer & Executive Producer, “Everyone Else Burns”

 

Dillon Mapletoft is a creator, writer and executive producer on The CW’s new comedy “Everyone Else Burns.”

 

Mapletoft most recently wrote, created and executive produced his own original comedy series EVERYONE ELSE BURNS, alongside frequent collaborator Oliver Taylor. Following a hyper-religious family in modern-day Manchester, the series is packed with comedy talent including Simon Bird, Kate O’Flynn, Lolly Adefope, Morgana Robinson and Amy James-Kelly.

 

Mapletoft has further original projects in development including an adaptation of his critically acclaimed stage show “Fix My Brain” with Eleven Film and original concepts in development with both Fearless Minds in the UK and Tornante in the US. He recently participated in a soon to be announced writers room for a brand new comedy drama series for Netflix for which he will also write an episode. He contributed additional material on the second series of Armando Iannucci’s sci-fi comedy AVENUE 5 for HBO and Sky and is a previous recipient of the Dancing Ledge Writer in Residence Bursary.

 

While at university, Mapletoft was president of the Cambridge Footlights and wrote and co-directed a sell-out Cambridge Footlights touring show which played at venues including iQ West in Los Angeles, the Second City in Chicago and the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York, and went on to write sketches for platforms including BBC3 Online and Radio 4.
