Abigail (Abby) Bianchi in “Family Law”

Jewel Staite stars as Abigail (Abby) Bianchi, a complex and flawed, yet whip-smart and relatable personal injury attorney in The CW's drama "Family Law." After public humiliation almost gets her disbarred, Abby is forced to work with the only lawyer in town willing to mentor her: her father and successfully family law attorney Harry Svensson (Victor Garber).

Born in White Rock, British Columbia, Staite has been acting since she was six years old. She is best known for her work as Kaylee in the cult classic Fox series “Firefly,” as well as the feature film adaptation “Serenity.” More recently, Staite was seen on ABC’s hit series “The Good Doctor,” NBC’s “Blindspot,” and SyFy’s “The Magicians.”

A Gemini Award nominated and Leo Award winning actress, Staite is also recognized for her starring role as ‘Caroline Swift’ on the hit AMC series “The Killing” and on The CW’s “Legends of Tomorrow” and “LA Complex”. Most recently she could be seen as the lead in “How to Plan an Orgy in a Small Town.”

Staite is currently based in Canada.
