Yvonne Chapman stars as Zhilan Zhang, a cunning assassin and nemesis to Nicky (Olivia Liang) on The CW’s series “Kung Fu.”
Chapman is an enigmatic talent that draws audiences in with her self-possessed confidence and charm. Despite having a successful career in finance, she decided to follow her passion for the arts and leave Calgary, Canada, where she was born and raised, to pursue a career in acting. Not only did the industry welcome her with open arms, as she quickly began booking coveted roles, but she found herself achieving beautiful things in writing, producing, and directing as well.
Chapman will recur on the second season of Global TV’s “Family Law,” which will premiere later this year. Previously, audiences have seen Chapman in “The 100,” “The Crossing” and CBC’s “Street Legal,” a reboot of the hit television series from the 80’s. Chapman will also be seen as Avatar Kyoshi, a legendary warrior revered for her bravery, in the upcoming, highly anticipated series “Avatar: The Last Airbender.”
Chapman is a passionate advocate of the arts. For several years she served as an Executive Board Member and Treasurer for the Calgary International Film Festival. She has also acted in, produced, and directed short films in support of young and emerging artists -- many of which have been featured in prominent film festivals such as Cannes, the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival, and the National Film Festival for Talented Youth.
