Jon Goldwater is executive producer of “Riverdale,” based on the characters from the Archie Comics, and serves as CEO/Publisher of Archie Comics.

 

Goldwater has lived and breathed the world of Archie and his friends since birth. Upon taking over as CEO/Publisher of Archie Comics in 2009, Goldwater revived the dormant Archie brand with a series of bold, unprecedented moves and initiatives that immediately put the 80-year-old company back on the pop culture radar - including the introduction of the first gay character in comics, Kevin Keller; the Archie wedding; the launch of the acclaimed horror series “Afterlife with Archie,” “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and “Jughead: The Hunger” and the international news and sales sensation, “The Death of Archie.”

 

The company experienced a historic and meteoric rebirth under Goldwater, including a line-wide relaunch that began with the bestselling and critically acclaimed “Archie” #1 comic book and continues to this day. Under Goldwater’s watchful guidance, the iconic Archie Comics publishing brand has become an innovative, much talked-about and hugely-successful media company, with TV, animation, theatrical and feature film initiatives in various stages of development.
