Sunny Patel in “Sight Unseen”

Agam Darshi stars as Sunny Patel, a professional seeing-eye guide, in The CW’s new series “Sight Unseen.”

Darshi is an award-winning actor, writer and director of South Asian descent, and the co-founder of the Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival (VISAFF). Darshi wrote, produced, directed and starred in the critically acclaimed indie, “Donkeyhead.” The film centers on Mona Ghuman (Agam Darshi), a South Asian woman born and raised in Canada, whose arrested development finds resolution amidst the passing of her father and reconciliation with her family. “Donkeyhead” won multiple awards in several categories, including Leo Awards for Best Direction, Best Screenplay and Best Lead Actor. Darshi also starred in Oscar-nominated director Deepa Mehta’s “Funny Boy,” for which she earned multiple award nominations and received a Leo Award.

Born in the UK and raised in Canada, Darshi began her pursuit of acting at age 14, and eventually booked her first series role for U.S. audiences in Season 2 of the action drama, “Sanctuary,” starring Amanda Tapping. A busy and talented multi-hyphenate, her recent credits include Ava Duvernay’s “DMZ,” “Family Law,” “Allegiance,” “You Me Her,” “Holistic Detective Agency,” “Colossal” and “Brain on Fire.”

When not in front or behind the camera, Darshi is the dedicated mother of twin boys. She and her family split time between Vancouver and Los Angeles.
