Querl Dox/Brainiac-5 in “Supergirl”
Jess Rath joins the DC Universe as Brainiac-5, a longstanding member of the Legion of Super-Heroes in The CW’s “Supergirl.”
Born and raised in Montreal, Rath is best known for his role as Alak Tarr in the hit SyFy series “Defiance.” More recently, he was seen in The CW romantic comedy “No Tomorrow” in the role of Timothy, a successful tech executive who is stuck as the third wheel in a love triangle.
Previously, Rath starred as Carter Boyd in “18 to Life,” for which he received a 2010 and 2011 Gemini Award nomination. Other small screen credits include lead roles in the live action/animated television show “Mudpit,” as well as appearances in “Code Black,” the Canadian series “19-2,” “Cra$h and Burn,” “My Babysitter’s a Vampire” and “Being Human.”
Rath’s feature film credits include; “The Greatest Game Ever Played,” “Prom Wars” with Ricky Ullman and Alia Shawkat, “The Trotsky” opposite Jay Baruchel and most recently “The Howling: Reborn,” a sequel to the 1981 cult classic.
A diehard comic book fan, when Rath isn’t working he can be found scouring local stores around Los Angeles, Toronto, and Montreal. He is also one of the creators and stars of the popular web series Fans.
