Executive Producer on “Walker Independence”

Jared Padalecki serves as executive producer on The CW’s hit series “Walker” as well as the highly anticipated new drama “Walker Independence.”

Padalecki is a gifted actor whose creative versatility and talent continue to be displayed as he skillfully navigates the entertainment industry as both an actor and a producer. Padalecki currently stars as the title character in The CW’s hit series “Walker,” where he also serves as Executive Producer. “Walker,” currently airing its third season, is the first television show Padalecki has produced. The series premiere garnered the largest audience in The CW time slot in over four years.

Padalecki brings his own spin to Cordell Walker, whom the series follows as the widower and father of two returns home to Austin to find there is still hard work to be done. Padalecki concurrently serves as an executive producer on the freshman CW series “Walker Independence,” which explores the origin story of Abby Walker, ancestor to Cordell, and the first Walker to call Texas home.

Padalecki is also known for his lead role as Sam Winchester in The CW’s long-running hit series “Supernatural” (co-starring Jensen Ackles). The beloved series not only holds the title of the longest-running series on the network to date but is also the longest-running genre show in the history of American prime-time broadcast television.

Prior to this success, Padalecki won the hearts of many for his role as Dean Forester alongside Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel in the series “Gilmore Girls,” from creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. He later reprised his role for the Netflix revival miniseries, “Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life.”

Additional notable film credits include the cult horror film “Friday the 13th” from director Marcus Nispel; the Warner Bros. horror thriller “House of Wax” opposite Chad Michael Murray and Elisha Cuthbert; slasher “Cry Wolf” from director Jeff Wadlow; and the Twentieth Century Fox remake of the adventure classic “Flight of the Phoenix” opposite Dennis Quaid and Tyrese Gibson.

Padalecki is an avid and outspoken advocate of mental health, openly sharing his own history with depression and anxiety. His passions led him to launch the “Always Keep Fighting” campaign to help raise money and awareness for mental health, depression, and suicide prevention. He recently designed a “You Define You” apparel line in partnership with his campaign and in support of Mental Health Awareness Day, with proceeds benefiting several non-profit organizations in the space. By opening up an honest dialogue around his own experiences and struggles, he is working to create a safe space for others to share their stories and feel less alone.

The Texas native currently resides in Austin with his wife, urban homesteader and actress Genevieve Padalecki, along with their three children, three dogs, fourteen chickens, and hives of honeybees.
