EMMA HUNTER

Nora Finley-Cullen in “Moonshine”

Emma Hunter stars as Nora Finley-Cullen in The CW’s new series “Moonshine.” Sexy, wry local DJ with a penchant for classic tracks, wine and memorable mistakes, Nora enjoys being an enigma. Afterall, she’s always been defined by what she’s not. Not married, not emotionally available, not Lidia (Jennifer Finnigan). Life is easier when you’re detached, especially when you’re detached from your psycho family. But life isn’t always easy. After Lidia returns and Nora is outed for an affair with a married man, she finds herself pulled back into a bucket of family crazy that she’s spent her whole life trying to avoid.

Hunter is a multiple Canadian Screen Award-nominated and winning actress and comedian. Acting credits include “The Beaverton,” “Mr. D,” “Letterkenny,” “Workin’ Moms,” “This Hour Has 22 Minutes,” “The Royal Canadian Air Farce,” “George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight,” “Match Game,” “Spun Out,” “Pop Quiz,” Just For Laughs All Access Gala 2012 and 2015, MuchMusic’s “Video on Trial,” MTV Live, “The LA Complex,” “Gary and His Demons,” and “Degrassi.”

Recently, Hunter appeared in the films “Mary Goes Round” and “3 Way (Not Calling)”, both of which premiered at TIFF, “How To Buy A Baby,” “Save Me” and “Goon 2.” Her hosting credits include CBC’s “Fridge Wars,” The 2018 Canadian Screen Awards, and CTV’S “Pop Quiz.” She was nominated for Canadian Screen Awards for her work on “Mr. D” and “The Beaverton,” and recently won for her work on “How To Buy A Baby” and “Save Me.” She has also been nominated for a Dora Away, the Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award, and is the recipient of a Canadian Comedy Award for her work on “The Beaverton.”

Hunter grew up in Etobicoke, where she spent many hours at the mall and attended university in Kingston at Queen’s. When not working, Hunter and her husband Tom are kept busy with their three toddlers. She currently calls the Beaches home.
