Creator / Executive Producer of “Children Ruin Everything”

Kurt Smeaton is the creator and executive producer for The CW’s new comedy series “Children Ruin Everything.”

 

Smeaton is a lucky husband and father of Henry, Sadie and Freya. With producer credits on more than 100 episodes of prime-time comedy, Smeaton is an experienced and respected veteran of Canadian television. Recently, he served as co-executive producer on “Kim’s Convenience,” “Cavendish” and “Schitt’s Creek,” for which he won an Emmy^® and a Golden Globe^® award.

 

Select credits include “What Would Sal Do?,” “Young Drunk Punk,” “Mr. D,” “This Is That,” and “Space Riders: Division Earth.”

 

Smeaton’s roots are in live comedy, where he is one-third of the award-winning sketch group Falcon Powder, and an original producer of Catch 23 Improv, one of the longest-running improv shows in Toronto.
