Amara Patterson in “All American: Homecoming”


In The CW’s hit series “All American: Homecoming,” Kelly Jenrette stars as Amara Patterson. As the President of Bringston, Amara faces all new challenges when she realizes just how hard it will be to keep Bringston afloat. Amara will battle between what the job requires and what her heart demands. She will have to fight for balance as she strives to leave a mark on Bringston and have a lasting legacy that will make her proud.


In 2018, Jenrette and her husband became the first African American married couple to be nominated for Emmys® in the same year. Jenrette’s Emmy® nomination was for her portrayal of Annie in season two of “The Handmaid’s Tale.”


Jenrette’s two latest films can be found on Netflix: “Uncorked” and “All Day and A Night.” In the latter, Jenrette stars alongside Jeffrey Wright and Ashton Sanders.


She is also in the second season of the hit anthology show “Manhunt: Deadly Games” and can be seen as Winona on “Limetown.” Jenrette has also been a series regular on the comedy “Grandfathered,” starring John Stamos, and had recurring guest star roles on “Mixed•ish,” “Here and Now,” “Pitch” and “Graves.” You may also remember her from her twelve Kmart commercials as Kmart Kelly!


Jenrette, a native of Atlanta, resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Melvin Jackson Jr.
